Shift Dress

The Wiksten Shift Dress is a great beginner pattern with top, short and long dress options. With good linen this dress drapes so elegantly and is very adaptable to every occasion from walking through a sunflower field to fancy dinner events. Shown here in Merchant & Mills linen.

Gathering Top

The Gathering Top and City Gym shorts are a great way to use a yard of Liberty fabrics. The perfect summer attire for my girls, beach worthy and bike worthy.

The Bantam dress in The Workbook

Another winner from the Merchant and Mills Workbook. In shirt and dress options, this is so versatile and can be used in summer as a cover-up and winter by layering.

Shift Dress

This was my first Wiksten shift, in Liberty linen (coming Spring 2021). I can’t say enough about this pattern. It’s quick, and oh so rewarding! I love it so much I’ve made it three times.

Wood Carrier

A gift for my husband who spends every waking hour in the summer chopping wood to keep us cozy in winter. Pattern is The Wood Carrier pattern in Making magazine No. 8. Merchant & Mills oilskin is perfect for this project. It’s sturdy, water resistant, easy to cut and ruggedly handsome to hold.

Hattie Dress.jpg

The Merchant and Mills Hattie dress completed! Top in Liberty fabric Persephone print. Bottom Merchant and Mills knapsack linen. Forgot the pockets (by accident) and took out some of the skirt width so I have extra to make some festive fall napkins. You can find these fabrics and more at our virtual shop (link in bio) in a cozy little corner of the Berkshires.

Heron top in the workbook

Merchant & Mills Heron Top is for an advanced beginner. I don’t know which I like more, the collar or the wrap aspect. The Merchant and Mills workbook should be in every sewers library, even if only for motivation and inspiration. The patterns produce unique yet wearable pieces and one can get happily lost in the pictures and descriptions. Shown in Merchant & Mills Lennon EU Linen

Wilder Dress

Oh, the Wilder from the Friday Pattern Company! This fulfills so many childhood Little House dreams! The pattern includes many options for customization and includes a shirt option as well. In Merchant & Mills Winter Hymn linen, it hangs and swings just as you would imagine it to on the prairie winds.

Fielder Dress

The Merchant & Mills Fielder Dress is one that gets a lot of use. The option to pair ribbing with fabric is a fun collaboration. There are in-seam pockets and darts and all the other trappings of a pattern you’ll want to sew again and again. Shown here in Merchant & Mills Big Sur Linen with Ice and Cream Rib.

Peppermint Pocket Dress

The Peppermint Pocket Skirt. An amazing free pattern and the quickest sew I’ve done in awhile! Loving the combo of our Liberty poplin with our M&M linen. Such a useful addition to my handmade wardrobe.
